Und ladet jemand dich zu Gast,
Und giebt dir leckern Schmaus,
So freu' dich, daß du etwas hast
Was du nicht hast zu Haus.
Giebt er dir aber kahlen Schmaus,
Sei ein bescheid'ner Gast,
Und freue dich, daß du zu Haus
Selbst etwas bess'res hast.
